When a black person is killed by a white cop, you can count on protests. However, when a black person is killed by another black person, it apparently is no big deal. After Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, MO, protesters took up the chant, “Black Lives Matter.”
Indeed, black lives should matter. But black lives should not matter just when a white cop kills a black person. Black lives should matter just as much when Blacks are killing each other. But it does not.
In the picture, a woman is carrying a sign that asks, “Is my son next?” The bitter truth is, her son is more likely to be killed by another black person than a rogue cop.
In Ferguson, 9-year-old Jamyla Bolden was doing her homework, when a crook fired five shots into her home, killing Jamyla and wounding her mother. Other than family and friends, the black community did not make her death a cause for protesting.
In Chicago, 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee was intentionally executed by a gang member to get back at his father. As heinous as Tyshawn’s execution was, there was no major protests as was the case for LaQuan McDonald.
Though the mantra of Black Lives Matter has been taken up by many Blacks, it is not what we say that matters, it’s what we do. If black lives truly, matter, we should prove it.
To date, when many people shout, “Black Lives Matter,” they only mean when a white cop kills a black person. They’re selective about when black lives matter. We should protest questionable police shootings. But those killing shouldn’t be the only times we think black lives matter.
illings. We should also protest those killings. However, when you look at the big picture, our outrage has been selective. While we are protesting police killings and their bad behavior, we have been ignoring the avalanche of black-on-black killings and bad behavior.
Now, however, many Blacks are starting to push back on the hypocrisy of the Black Lives Matter movement. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman added his voice to the issue:
“As a black man I do understand that black lives matter," Sherman said. "I stand for that, I believe in that wholeheartedly. But I believe that there is a way to go about things and there’s a way to do things."
“I dealt with a best friend getting killed, and it was by two 35-year-old black men. Wasn’t no police officer involved, wasn’t anybody else involved, and I didn’t hear anybody shouting, 'Black lives matter.'”
“If black lives matter,” Sherman said, “then they should matter all of the time.”
“Some of it is being brought to light because of video cameras; everybody has a camera on their phone," he said. "These are things a lot of us have dealt with our whole lives.”
Blacks killing Blacks dwarfs the number of Blacks killed by white cops. But we act as if a black person is 10,000 times more dead when killed by a white cop than when killed by a black person. We have become so numb to Blacks killing each other, we don't protest and try to find solutions to this epidemic.
Also, we have become so obsessed with racism, that is the only evil we see, but there's plenty of evil in our own neighborhoods as well. The easiest thing for a black person to do is to jump on the victim bandwagon. that doesn't take courage.
But it takes conviction and courage to stand up for what's right whether it's accepted or not. Finally, we have to be smarter about protesting because others with different agendas will join our protests and exploit our anger to advance their own agenda.
The Black Lives Matter people can become quite upset when their hypocrisy is exposed. But when they adopt the lofty name, “Black Lives Matter,” they should expect scrutiny.... <<<<<< N.B from Jumbotweet: auto-truncated at 4K characters on index page - Click here or on the "view" link to see entire jumbotweet! http://www.jumbotweet.com/ltweets/view/134712
Many Americans have short memories. Some have intentionally short memories. They fault President Obama for many things, but they forget conveniently forget what it was like when President Obama took office. The economy was in shambles, thanks to the Republicans, who now claim to have all the answers. When Obama took office, the housing market had collapsed. The auto industry was in danger of dying. Gas prices were heading towards $4. Our country was spending a billion dollars a day in Iraq. Soldiers were dying in an unnecessary war. The employment rate was dismal. Look at those issues today.
Even some autoworkers, who owe their jobs to the president’s policies, incredibly forgot what the president did for them. Yeah, many Americans have a short and selective memory.
All Trump has done is run his mouth. Call it diarrhea of the mouth. Many of the people who support this man are bitter, naive, they're the losers, the bigots, the failures who blame others for their failures in life, and the yahoos who do not read, can't spell, and can't compete.
Demagogues, like Trump, will always attract the low-lifes of society who want to blame others for the predicament they find themselves.
A segment of Americans are angry and disgruntled about a lot of issues, and they’re fed up with the politically correct talk of most politicians. No doubt, Donald Trump has tapped into that. Even so, I would not vote for this man, because he would be an absolute disaster for the country. It's one thing to talk like a drunken bigot in a bar, but you don't want your president behaving like that.
Trump's campaign is a good indication of what kind of president this man would be. He is an arrogant, thin-skinned know it all. He reminds you of that spoiled brat whose parents indulged him. What’s more, he has insulted nearly every group you can think of. Every week it’s another insult. Most recently, he mocked a man with a disability. He has even insulted nearly every one of his Republican rivals. Every week or every day, he insults someone new.
The clues are obvious about this man's character, or lack thereof. As Americans, we should never, ever allow the rantings of a demagogue to lead us. America’s great presidents have demonstrated intelligence, character, wisdom, compassion, and sound judgment. I don’t see those qualities in Trump.

When a black person is killed by a white cop, protests are inevitable. This is the case even if the person killed was in the act of committing a crime. However, when a black person is killed by another black person, it apparently is no big deal, and protests are rare. After Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, MO, protesters took up the chant, “Black Lives Matter.” Indeed, black lives should matter. But black lives should matter all the time and not just when a white cop kills a black person. Black lives should matter when Blacks are killing each other as well.
We don’t defend or excuse white cops killing Blacks. We just think it’s even more reprehensible when we do it to each other, and we are doing it to each other in numbers that overshadow what the police is doing to us.
In Ferguson, 9-year-old Jamyla Bolden was doing her homework, when a crook fired five shots into her home. Jamyla was killed, and her mother was wounded. Other than family and friends, the black community did not make her death a cause for protesting.
In Chicago, 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee was intentionally executed by a gang member who wanted to get back at his father. As heinous as Tyshawn’s execution was, there were no major protests or community outrage as was in the case of LaQuan McDonald.
“When I found out he (Tyshawn) was targeted, I thought this is a new kind of killer, a new kind of shooter," said Joewaine "Joe" Washington, a former gang member and CeaseFire violence interrupter who was monitoring the ongoing violence in the area. "It was a time bomb, but in my wildest dreams, I never knew it was going to escalate to a kid."
The "Black Lives Matter" mantra has now been taken up by many Blacks. However, it’s not what we say that matters; it’s what we do. If black lives truly matter, let’s prove it.
When people shout, “Black Lives Matter,” they are nearly always referring to situations where a white cop killed a black person. They’re being selective about when black lives matter. But those killings shouldn’t be the only times we think black lives matter.
The Black Lives Matter group, and their supporters, took great issue when Spike Lee was producing the movie “Chi-raq” about Chicago’s black-on-black violence. They attacked Spike on social media and elsewhere. Some even likened Spike to a white racist, or a Tom. Spike Lee, likened to a white racist? Spike Lee a Tom? All because he wanted to shine a light on black-on-black violence?
Fortunately, more Blacks now recognize the hypocrisy of the Black Lives Matter movement, and they are pushing back. Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman added his voice to the issue:
“As a black man, I do understand that black lives matter," Sherman said. "I stand for that, I believe in that wholeheartedly. But I believe that there is a way to go about things and there’s a way to do things.

For individuals who do participate in these protests, make sure you’re not an extra in someone else’s protest or agenda. Groups with different agendas often join protests, but they have a totally different agenda to take over the protests and to steer those protests in a direction they would like, be it violence, looting, or anarchy.
Here’s a thought. When the Black Lives Matter people target the police to make the point that black lives matter, they’re essentially picking low-hanging fruit. For, despite the actions of rogue cops,... <<<<<< N.B from Jumbotweet: auto-truncated at 4K characters on index page - Click here or on the "view" link to see entire jumbotweet! http://www.jumbotweet.com/ltweets/view/134708
