A segment of Americans are really angry and disgruntled about a lot of issues. They’re fed up with most politicians who have accepted illegal immigration as a new normal and are too politically correct to tell it like it is. No doubt, Donald Trump has tapped into that anger with his attack dog rhetoric. Trump has been saying what many people are already thinking.
Even so, I would not vote for this man. He would be an absolute disaster for the country. It's one thing to talk like a drunk bigot in a bar, but you certainly don't want your president behaving like that.
Trump's campaign is a very good indication of what kind of president he would be. He is an arrogant, thin-skinned, know it all. If when he’s wrong, he thinks he’s right. He reminds you of that spoiled brat whose parents never reined him in.
What’s more, he has insulted nearly every group you can think of. Every week, it’s another insult. He insulted nearly every Republican presidential hopeful. He insulted media moderators. He mocked a man with a disability. A few days ago, he talked about banning all Muslims from entering the country and putting mosques under surveillance. That kind of inflammatory language has him at odds with nearly a billion people abroad. World leaders have condemned him as well as leader in his own country.
Not only are his comments reprehensible and unwise, but they are recruitment bait for ISIS. The more people Trump insults, the likelihood increases the Republicans will face a landslide in the presidential election. But it is they who helped to create this Frankenstein.
The clues are obvious about this man's character, or lack thereof. As Americans, we should never, ever allow the rantings of a demagogue to lead us. America’s great presidents have demonstrated intelligence, character, self-control, wisdom, and sound judgment. I don’t see those qualities in Trump.
If Trump was president, in his mind, and in the mind of his supporters, all he would have to do is wave a wand, and POOF, ISIS would be wiped out on his first day in office. He would build a border fence and seal off America.
He would tell China what to kiss. He would bomb Iran, and Putin would shake in his shoes at the thought of dealing with him. Unfortunately, there’s a difference between actual reality and reality TV. Trump promises Fantasyland.
But It’s all talk. His supporters have fallen for the hype. It is convincing proof reality TV has made many Americans dumb and dumber.

Black leaders are very good at talking about the problems affecting the black community. When you listen to them, they will blame society, the government, Republicans, the Tea Party, the police, and the bogeyman of the month. The way some of them see it, unemployment, poor schools, low achievement, failing cities, and crime are all the result of external factors visited upon us.
To be fair, there’s a smidgen of truth in what they say. But just a smidgen. Black “leaders” have been making that argument for over 50 years, but how well has that argument been working for us? Not very well.
If our race is going to advance beyond where we are, it’s time we stopped focusing on the symptoms and start looking at the roots of the problems we face. This should have been done decades ago—but late is better than never.
In every urban city in America, you see the same social and economic ills. Some of those ills can be attributed to structural inequalities--yes. However, it would be self-deceiving and a disservice to the truth to attribute most of those ills to society itself. Just as immigrants can come to the United States, often speaking little or no English, and yet realize the American dream in short order, African Americans can do the same thing.
In fact, back in the day, thousands of African Americans migrated from the South to the North, and they excelled. But, unlike the 1960s and before, most black leaders today have focused on portraying us as pitiful victims. As a result, we’ve been conditioned to believe we’re so socially disadvantaged, we simply cannot succeed. They’re making us believe we are permanent victims.
African Americans are as capable as anyone else. The same people who produced Martin Luther King, Jr., Berry Gordy, Jr., Oprah Winfrey, Thurgood Marshall, Spike Lee, Colin Powell, Stevie Wonder, Mae Jemison, Alex Haley, Sidney Poitier, Maya Angelou, Maynard Jackson, Kathy Hughes, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Neil de Grasse Tyson, and others, can produce future greats and near greats.
Each of those African Americans was raised during a time when character mattered and black parents made sure character and a premium on education were taught.
Today, too many black parents, single parents or two parents, act more like friends or homies to their children than parents. This is “Parental Malpractice.” Let’s look at some examples of Parental Malpractice.
Failure to teach their children:
• A passion for learning
• Respect for others
• Not to take what doesn’t belong to you
• How to manage their anger
• Respect for human life.
• The virtues of delayed gratification and the perils of instant gratification.
• They must work for something if they want it.
• Any male can make a baby, but taking care of a baby is what makes a man.
• Choose your lovers carefully. If he’s not taking care of other children, he won’t take care of yours.
In most urban areas you see too many reminders of how parents are failing their children. You see children hanging out into the wee hours of the morning often committing crimes, and the parent doesn’t seem to have a clue.
Parents, whether it’s a single parent or two parents, seem to no longer teach morality and values to their children. As a result, the black community, in particular, bears the brunt of this parental malpractice. But many parents can be muleheaded, and you can’t tell them anything.
Government officials and journalists tell us all the time how successful ISIS has been attracting recruits. If ISIS has been so successful, maybe the United States should upgrade its propaganda machine.
Certainly, any group with followers, who get their jollies by beheading and killing innocent people, should be portrayed as deranged. That’s just how ISIS should be portrayed in the propaganda war. The nutty, deranged, lunatic angle should be played up more. ISIS is not a bunch of jihadists trying to right some religious wrong. On the contrary, they’re a bunch of backward, barbarians who are, in their minds, living in the stone age.
ISIS gives meaning to words like lunatic, crazy, savage, degenerate, uncivilized, and thugs. No self-respecting person, who claims to have a relationship with God, would commit mass murder, rape women for sport, or behead innocent people. But ISIS does those things and claim their actions are, incredibly, approved by God. What God? No God would approve what they do, unless their god is the devil.
Video could be used showing ISIS followers cheering and championing lunatic behavior and how their behavior conflicts with that of most Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddists, and other civilized people.
The United States has great film and documentary producers. Their skills could be used to portray ISIS for what it is, a collection of crazed, lunatics who rejoice over the murder and rape of innocent people. Call them Lunatics, Inc.
Their behavior is typical of people with low self-esteem and a victim’s mentality. That low self-esteem is quite often the trigger for violence. These people are also mentally ill. So, let’s expose ISIS for what it really is. Deranged, degenerate lunatics. This strategy should complement the world’s military strategy.
Before ISIS is dealt with militarily, a few basic items need to be addressed. First, our country has to tighten up on immigration, specifically, the Visa Waiver program. Flaws in the Visa Waiver program allowed 9/11 terrorists to enter the country and one of the San Bernardino terrorists to enter. The Visa Waiver program allows business and touring citizens of participating countries easy travel entry into the United States without a visa for stays of 90 days or less. But it appears Congress is ready to make the necessary changes.
That said, nearly every nation on the planet has valid reasons to be against ISIS--for its terrorist acts and for what it represents. You can count among those nations, the United States, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Nigeria, Kenya, Japan, Jordan, Canada, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Australia, India, and China just to name a few.
These are some of the most powerful nations in the world. All of them have enormous economic and military might. But for some inexplicable reason, these nations have not seen the wisdom of uniting to destroy ISIS. Take the United States and Russia. The U.S. will not coordinate with Russia because Russia supports Syrian leader Assad. Russia will not work with the United States because it wants to keep Assad in power. But shouldn’t destroying ISIS be number one priority? Let’s unite to get rid of ISIS first, and put Assad on the back burner for now. First things first.
When you’re dealing with people who don’t respect humanity or law, like ISIS, you don’t have a choice, and you cannot play nice. The civilized nations of the world have to get down and in-the-mud nasty. You have to do unto terrorists what the terrorist do unto you. If it means beheading terrorists to let them taste their own medicine, so be it.
When the civilized man is in conflict with the uncivilized man, the uncivilized man has an advantage. You see, the uncivilized man’s actions aren’t restrained by conscience or law, but the civilized man’s actions are. To eliminate the uncivilized man, the civilized the cannot afford to play nice.
What this all means is let the terrorists taste their own cooking, so to speak. Terrorists think they have a monopoly on fear and terror, and that’s been their strength. The nations of the world have no choice, they should teach ISIS a lesson, and they have to be just as ruthless when doing it.
With so many nations ticked off by ISIS, stopping ISIS should be easy. But none of these nations wants to get their hands dirty. Some nations, particularly Mideast nations, want the US, and Western nations, to do all the heavy lifting. But they have money, resources and an army, too. What if each nation committed a minimum of 500 troops and weapons?
More importantly, why can’t there be a conference of nations to coordinate a military strategy? Then, what if these nations assembled troops and surrounded ISIS fighters wherever they were? This kind of commitment by nations could eliminate the band of degenerate misfits called ISIS as well as their wannabees.
Fighting terrorism is every nation’s responsibility. Of course, some nations would just love to sit back and have the United States do it all. And for years, these countries have played on the United States’ massive ego and let our country carry the load while they risked neither soldiers nor treasury.
Some Americans, hooked that macho thing, may not like Pres. Obama’s approach, but he has kept the United States out of unnecessary wars, the kind that created at vacuum in the Mideast the made it possible for ISIS to emerge. So, if the goal is defeating ISIS, let every nation put some skin.
