Communities Click
The mutual support network across Harrow
Harrow Carers is pleased to be a partner involved in launching a new Timebanking service
What is the
Communities Click network?
Communities Click is a mutual support network that will provide support through a membership network for anyone in Harrow over the age of 18. The philosophy of Communities Click is to hand back choice and control to all adults, people with health conditions and unpaid carers, and to recognise their skills and abilities using time as a tool where everyone’s time is equal.
Everyone’s time is valued equally
One hour = One time credit
For example you can earn a credit by helping a neighbour with
housework, teaching a new skill and so forth. You can then spend this credit on one hour of someone else’s time to help you with something that you request.

Pros

“I have only asked my son one thing about the device, as it’s very easy to understand”
“It feels solid, as I worry about breaking things”
Cons
“The camera could be better”
“I would like to be able to have apps on it, like my friends have”
Thanks for your interest in supporting Harrow Carers during Carers Week in June (2013).
Harrow Carers supports over 2,500 carers living in Harrow who provide a hidden army of care looking after ill or frail parents and relatives, but who, often, struggle to get the support or recognition they deserve.
During Carers Week we hold various events right across the community to recognise their contribution. Many of our carers come from disadvantaged backgrounds and Carers Week is an opportunity to celebrate and talk about what a 24-hour job caring is.
We are a registered charity and are the leading carers support organisation in the London Borough of Harrow. We strive to safeguard the health and wellbeing of carers by providing respite breaks and assistance with health, social care, welfare and advice for a range of benefit issues.
We would be delighted if you, as part of our Carers Week activities, were able to donate a raffle gift we could give to a carer. Your contribution will be properly recorded with your gift. This year we are seeking the following donations:
•Gift vouchers (major retail stores and restaurants e.t.c)
•Cinema tickets
•Other such items
We are also looking for commercial support in helping us securing two small gazebos and catering support for our events. If you know of organisations able to help please do ask them to get in touch. All support and sponsorship will be properly recognised in our newsletter following Carers Week, circulated to 2.200 carers living in Harrow.
With just weeks to go to Carers Week, we are seeking gifts now and would greatly appreciate your support in helping recognise the huge contribution of young carers in Harrow.

@TimesIndyEditor @CNWLNHS @CarersTweets @Rethink_ @harrow_council Comment from a carer Re:Positive Psychology Course run by Charlotte Marriott (Assistant Clinical Psychologist) "I think it has changed my and our life"
Dear all,
A new web forum has been launched by Parliament to give carers the opportunity to have their say on the plans to reform social care in England.
The Parliamentary Committee that is examining the draft Care and Support Bill wants to hear carers’ views before it makes recommendations to the Government.
To help carers with their contributions to the online forum, we have produced a guidance document containing useful background information, advice, and links to Carers Trust’s previous briefing papers on the draft Bill.
