@CynthiaLive Thanks for the follow request. I like the chat structure of your SM tutorials but this Twitter acct seems centered on BuzzFeed which makes sense if they're a Ranklab client; I do use the site but I'd like to learn about other platforms & issues. However, you obviously love your work & every site you run has had some great nuggets of useful data. I may not participate in the timed chats, but I'll make sure to read linked articles and comments. Thanks!
@araknomania @notochildabuse Your comment "#standingup & #speaking up is vital. and not much is being done of it" is spot-on. My state of Texas along w/ only 18 others & PR MANDATE that every adult is to report even the suspicion of #childabuse. I'm going to include a report detailing 2012's state bills and their current status regarding this issue. What you'll find states have voted down is appalling.
@OppPearlProject: Your tweet about songs about rape and abuse intrigued me. I was a civilian whistleblower so my song may be different than the others. "Digging in the Dirt" from @itspetergabriel was the song I listened to over and over as I drove to the @DoD_IG to testify against former and current Fort Meade CID agents and their actions against children. To me, the lyrics are a 2-way conversation between the man I cared for but knew I had to turn in and me. It is a song about facing reality, listening to your moral compass and not remaining quiet. It would take too much space to explain each verse, but I listen to it now and I feel proud of what my family did to make things right for the victims.
@RosiePalfy: I am thrilled to be on your #MST source list - that means a great deal. You don't have to keep my name or anything about me private unless I ask. I'm quite open with what happened to my family. But I am just as adamant about maintaining the privacy of things said to me - been called a "black hole" a few times. Ha ha. On Twitter, I doubt anyone is going to be upset to be on someone's list (and it may be private between your connections, I don't know) and would probably be happy unless their messages are protected. Mine are not, so do what you will. My advice, only because you asked - why change the list name? MST is what this is about. That branches out to many other concerns: #PTSD, #MJIA, #serviceanimals, #childsurvivors.... but I think it's fine. Also, I wasn't upset about being on the "vet" list: I just can't take credit on anything they have done for me, my son, my freedom.
@CxYoMa: Your name has constantly appeared on my "People Similar to Me" list, so I decided to give it a shot and follow. Espero que nosotras tengamos mucho en común y, tal vez, podamos encontrar un proyecto o evento sobre el cual trabajar juntas. ¡Chau!
@RosiePalfy: Thank you for adding me to your "MST" list for reliable sources on the topic. However, I saw I'm on the "vet" list and I wanted to make clear two things: 1) I'm not near woman enough to be so brave as many of the service members in this struggle so I never served but I try to do right by the ones who did and 2) I do work in the MST "arena" but my focus is on child survivors and their families. I was a civilian whistleblower. It's so nice to meet you; I look forward to learning more about you. #MST #MJIA #protectourkids
@msmalcriada I still have quite a few paper copies in my magazine stand (I tend to read many things at once). Your profile says you're a Bitch mag blogger and illustrator; do you only work online or do you have a hand in the paper edition as well?
