Struggle means overcoming trivial irritants on the way and proceed towards your goal. But in the same vein, survival means something different. Because to survive is to live with those irritants and yet master them.
Hindi
While reading about the spread of Hindi to various parts of the world or it’s inability to breach the English domination, I think of other Indian languages and about their fate. Like the English language, which suppressed the Bharatiya wisdom and introduced pseudo-semi-qualified English churning pedestrians to the helm, what mechanism should be put in place so that spread of Hindi does not wipe out the regional languages. I am an Oriya and I like to read, speak and write in my own. But although I like Hindi poets, intellectuals or writers, how many of them know who represent Oriya.
And I do not want why the Government of India should tons of money to spread Hindi in the name of Rajbhasa. I can understand that the Hindi language is growing due to its strength as a commercial vehicle or political tag, but the Government spending and giving employment to thousands of Hindi speaking natives will surely upset other language speakers.
Will somebody tell me, how much is spent on them.
